I had 10 days Christmas vacations, what in emotions amount was longer than 1 month. Those 10 days was amazing.
I started them at Guadalajara, where I stayed with Mariana (from my team). First day started from traveling alone from bus station to Mariana’s home, what was aprox. 1 hour and I had to take 2 buses in city, where I never been before.
First day I received a map and had to make excursion by myself and it was good, with a lot of flexibility.
Second day started alone too, but in the morning I met next to tourist kiosk girl from Chile – Aniza, who didn’t speak englsih, whom I invited go with me to Tlaquepaque and Tonala, what is municipalities of Guadalajara, and she agreed. We spent amazing day visiting this places and by the end of the day, we understood that we like each other and all other days till the end of vacations we spent together.
Then it came Christmas and first day of Christmas we spent in Guadalajara center and in the night I went to have Christmas dinner with family of Mariana, where we ate really tasty food and then Octavio (our MCP) called us and invited us to go to his family house. Interesting thing is that he was in the same city as we and his home was 5 minutes walking from home of Mariana. In house of Octavio we had a lot of fun - talking and playing many different games till 2 am. I enjoyed this evening a lot.
Next day I told that most probably I will not meet with Aniza, but in the morning I sent her message that we can meet. And happened interesting situation that we met at time and at place I wrote in sms, but she didn't see that sms, she just accidently was there at that time. So we went to visit another places close to city center and then we were just lying down on the grass in center and sleeping for a while. It was great relaxing.
By the middle of the day I had to leave to home, because Marianas family had one more Christmas dinner with all relatives. We ate again really tasty dinner and were playing games and after that we called to Octavio and went with him and sister of Mariana to shopping mall to cinema. I was watching first time IMAX cinema and it was something unbelievable. So cool movie I never saw. It was completely 3D movie, where you feel that you can touch elements of movie. It was so natural that Mariana in scared moments was screaming in the cinema :)
Next day we with another sister of Mariana and Aniza went to Tequila, where we visited city and one of fabrics, where they make tequila. Here we bought entrance ticket to fabric for 7.5 USD, but we used tickets-bracelets very carefully, that we managed later to sell them for 5 USD to another visitors ;) This city has some charm, what make atmosphere there special.
I also bought there 2 litres of tequilla, what cost 6 USD for 1 liter in plastic bottle. In the evening we with Aniza went to bus station to meet Marina - Ukrainian girl, who was selected by me to be faci at Leadership development seminar, what was starting 2 weeks later.
Next day together with Mariana and Aniza we went to some museums in Guadalajara center and then we went to Zoo and park of attraction. We got to know that park of attractions is for free after 4:30pm, so we entered park at 4:40 pm :) It was pretty big and nice park, where we spend 2-3 hours and had a lot of adrenalin and fun and all for free ;)
Next morning we planned to go to Melaque, what is beach 4 hours from Guadalajara. With Marina we overslept 50 minutes and finally using running and taxi we arrived to bus station 5 minutes before bus was leaving. So with Marina and Aniza we went to Melaque. Road was kind of extreme, because we had to cross mountain and it was very high and road had a lot of curves. Before arriving I was watching outside of the window and didn't see too much sun. Looked like it is cold, but when we got out of the bus, I understood how wrong was I, because it was like 30 degrees in the end of December.
After 1 hour of looking for hotel (everything was full) we found one in the end of the city, from where beach was on another side of city and it is ... 15 minutes walking ;) We put our clothes to the hostel and of course went directly to the beach and it was wonderful. This place I loved a lot, because it doesn’t have too many tourists, is small, quite warm and with cool beach.
Next day we went to another beach, what was 30 minutes from Melaque - Barra de Navidad, where we were eating watermelon, playing checkers, swimming, ... It was super cool too. By the end of the day, we took our bags from hotel and went to bus station, where we were sleeping for 2 hours, while waiting for our bus to Puerto Vallarta. We took bus at 2am and went to Puerta Vallarta - very famous beach.
In Puerta Vallarta we met 2 friends of Mariana, who suppose that reserved hotel for us, but when we came to hotel, they told that don't have room for us. After some words of unsatisfaction and discussion for 30 minutes, we went to look for another hostel and found one very cheap and 15 minutes from the beach. We took one room for 5 of us.
First day in Puerta vallarta we went to the beach, then we with Aniza went sightseeing and in the night we went to Senious Frog club, what was full of tourists from US and Canada, but we have enough fun and dancing.
Next day, what was 31 Dec we spent together with Aniza, because Marina with friends went by boat for whole day. We went to the Beach of Death (Playa de los muertos, but there wasn't any death),and it was famous beach :) There we spent all the day and in the evening we all together went to city center to celebrate new year. It was very beautiful, we had long firework and then many people was dancing Latino music on the streets - this atmosphere was fantastic. Also we had problem with opening our “Champaign” (actually it was cider, because they don’t have Champaign here), because cap from bottle broken and we managed to open bottle only at 00:05.
Next day was the last day of my trip, we went to another beach all together, where me, Aniza and one friend of Marian, we took boat and went to watch famous Arcs in the ocean and also watch fishes. They gave us masks, tubes for breathing and we could swim and watch fishes. I enjoyed it a lot.
In the afternoon Maryna, me and Aniza went to bus station, from where me and Maryna was leaving to Mexico city and Aniza to Monterrey, where she was doing university exchage.
With this 12 hours trip from Puerta Vallarta to Mexico city finished my 10 fantastic days of holidays.
I want more, but work cannot wait forever ;)
